Drytober Diaries – Week 4 (Thank God)

Monday 24th October 2016 – Alcohol Free

Thank god, thank god, thank god.  This is the last week of this torture.  I’m so over it.  I know I’m coming off as not being able to cope without alcohol, but over the past month I’ve really given it some thought.  It’s the same as everything – the minute you’re told you can’t have it, it’s on your mind all the time!  I’m ready to keep my weekends sacred and my week days alcohol free.  That’s the way to be!

Tuesday 25th October 2016 – Alcohol Free

Absolutely nothing to say.  Home from work; knackered and no desire for Drinks so early on a week night.

Wednesday 26th October – Alcohol Free

Private work night.  I’m supposed to pop round to a friends house afterwards, but I am so tired it’s just not going to happen.  My friend tells me she has a bottle of red wine waiting….I think it’s safer that I don’t visit.  My mind is already made up.  I will resume normality come Friday.

Friday 28th October 2016 – Alcohol, More Alcohol & Some

Hoorah! As far as I’m concerned, Drytober ends here!

I think I’ve done well although I didn’t succeed in a full month of teetotalism.  There is no way on God’s good earth that I’m enjoying Halloween weekend and my friend’s 40th sipping coke.   The Prosecco already open when I arrived at said friend’s to get ready.  It didn’t take long to get back into the swing.  A thoroughly great evening.

Saturday 29th October 2016 – Alcohol & Some

Bed at 4.00am and have to be up at 9.00am to pick up the dog.  Feel a bit groggy, but surprisingly energetic considering I’ve enjoyed my first evening of indulgence in weeks.  It’s a charity Halloween bash today in Rotherhithe Shaft.  It starts early 3.00pm, which s just as well, as I don’t think I have the energy today for a late one.  It’s another evening of flowing Prosecco.  I’m as sober as a judge despite being back on the drink.  Lovely!
